So ask those on the grounds
they will tell you, “we don’t know why but this is our only way to keep up”
well we have been told of many stories of how people have shared more than
anyone would expect they would share with the unknown persons. It’s a tragedy
that has hit our society today immensely. If you seat in an established higher learning
institution under a tree for two hours anyone would thump a finger, thinking
that all is fine with everyone yet it’s a total make -believe.
Hundreds of people have
talked from time to time about how a today’s young man’s life has this very thorny
and rough path for any speedy life time fortune. Talk of our campus life,
students do anything for money, is it drugs, escorts services, cults, all which
for a better life.
There is a student I met
as we were echoing our views on various topics, she happened to share what she
has catch sight of, Well Let’s call her
Sophie, she takes me through what she has witnessed and feels like she can’t
raise her daughter to go through what she sees,
“I came to town to do my course and achieve my dream
job as freshly ambitious as I came from home; all that I dint know was life
here isn’t as what mama told me. My mum was lucky I guess to have gone through
higher learning when their time they were disciplined naturally of which we at
the moment are not as lucky as them,
I have seen a roommate who has never slept in her
bed, only when it’s Saturdays morning after a whole night clubbing on Friday night,
and sleeps for two hours and they are out again. Ask me of how many KB’s… and KC’s…named number
plates, latest car models that pack just in front of our places, to pick up my
sisters daily. Talk of tuxedo’s worn as they come to pack on our gates; definitely
our elderly close to be our dads elder brothers.
I dint want to accept that my ‘beddie.’ had been
dragged into drug slavery to death, because of how focused she was as we came for
a course in media studies, well not even our teachers “lecturers” care, for its
every man for himself and God for us all. I saw a very unconscious ‘fresher’
who begged I take her to medical attention and that I should call anyone home,
oh! Hopeless.
I have friends whom if you just text them ‘yes I am
in’ you are so already connected and money comes your way, at first when I was
a first year, all this happenings were like a told mythical story or a scripted
narrative by parents to scare us from being free to the very limits, but it
comes with a lot of more things than just telling a child to be a good one.”
I have seen some people doing washing for other to at
least afford a fee for survival, we typically cannot say that we are from the
same background but what we do in campus 75% is close to we are from the same
background, because of the raves, character and even recklessness.” Surprisingly
enough some students date and they aren’t loyal to each other because still no
one is entitled to the other for any reasons,”
She goes further and
tells it as it is,
“sio madem tuu ata
machali wana go through the same mostly unakuta mtu amechukuliwa na mathee
wametoka then utamwona after kitu four days. Other just vanish to quench their thirst
for drug, It’s actually a total messed up peer group. I regret how it will be with
if future when one looks 65 at their early 30years old.”
Only God can save, Last
week a known Kenya online Publication Company wrote on something to do with
parents being involved to expose their children to the #Sponsors
HERE IS THE LINK as you read through you get to know how. Eldopeak reached
out to a middle aged woman who at some point shared a little bit concrete. Let call
her Sally,
Sally talked about the
known norm of the sponsor thing that is said by many, she has heard of fellows
in Chama’s talking of how they have
tried it, but the tricky part being to hide. “If all people were the same, then
we couldn’t tell if there is a problem because it would have been okay for all
of us and if it were not then we would not have the problem” Sally keeps on
narrating and open minded, she says those she didn’t thought would do, are the very
ones.
“You cannot believe me that two women fought
for a collage boy after our normal chats, at the Chama on our way home, both had
received the same message from him. I can’t say that anyone is innocent well there’s
a lot of things that at my aged it’s a shame even to speak about them on
record.”
Sally went on and
agreed there is a problem not just with anyone but with everyone, “we cannot seat and assume that we have a
future well planned and very promising with the type of things happening, homosexuality
in line, and all that, people need to reconsider their options.”
With the different
reasons as to why these things do happen, no one knows but as an individual,
one is responsible to their own actions. Doing anything for your survival is
good, yet be careful there are things that are just too risky for anyone who is
mature by nature. There is a life tomorrow that is worth well lived for your
generation to come student or parent or all should take action.
