ELECTIONS AT ITS PEAK

By Charles Ambunya

As long as time can tell elections have been the background of any democratic institution. Be it politics, social or economic. The story remains the same but what makes elections more captivating in any incident is how people go out of their way to expose their competitors.

A good example goes way back to the national politics that candidates go to an extent of claiming that the op poser is the refugee. A glimpse of such an incident is when the seating president of the United States of America was accused of not being a states man of the country. It went to extremes that the he was to produce the legal birth documents.

If we are to get back to what is at hand in the ongoing political seating of school administration of Mt. Kenya University Eldoret. Candidates have gone overboard with intimidation with not so not pleasing comments about their rivals. Candidates have been known to swear on their mothers’ grave that they would not, dare not, see any of these competitors in the winning seats. But this goes over board to picture posting of candidates having lost the competitions even before the voting.

So the question still remains are you voting for a candidate based on what you know about the candidate or for what people say about the candidate. Remember your vote your choice.
